About

A fragrance blog for people who read ingredient lists.

The Clean Nose started with a simple frustration — most "clean" fragrance content is either marketing copy or fear-mongering, and almost none of it tells you whether the product actually smells good or lasts past lunch.

We cover four things:

Home scent — candles, diffusers, and room sprays that don't fill your living room with things you can't pronounce.
Body fragrance — perfumes and colognes made without phthalates and undisclosed synthetics.
Performance — longevity, projection, and whether the clean stuff holds up against conventional fragrance.
Wellness — the science (and the hype) around scent, mood, and pheromones.

Every recommendation is something we'd buy with our own money. When we earn a commission, we say so — see the affiliate disclosure.
